GELAS Armagnac Porto Barros Cask Aged 18 Years
Bas Armagnac 18 years, 41.9% Vol. Is a uniquely distilled brandy from the region of Armagnac in Southwestern France. It is double matured, initially in oak barrels and then finished in 600L cask from Porto Barros Sogevinus from Portugal.
GELAS Armagnac’s have been produced from a wealth of experience. Producing top quality Armagnacs dating back to 1865, Maison Gelas set out 15 years ago to specialise in a new technique: Double Cask Maturation. This technique sees the Armagnac spend additional time ageing in a second oak barrel, which will previously have been used to age sweet or fortified wines, allowing a complex array of flavours to be imparted.
